DALL SHEEP

Dall sheep hunts at Mackenzie Mountain Outfitters are our speciality. We manage our area, to provide top notch animals for our clients. Our average animals are 37"-39". We will have a few 40" rams in a hunting season. Our sheep hunts start at base camp, where the hunters meet their guides. The hunters will leave what they don't need at camp and fly with the helicopter to remote locations where the hunters will set out on foot. The hunters then will set up spike camps as they hunt in the Mackenzie Mountain rage. Spike camps are a great way to cover a large area and allow hunters to never hunt the same location twice in a season. It is critical that hunters can train if possible to ensure the success of the hunt. Hunters need to be in fairly good shape to hunt, however we have had a number of hunters from 50 to 70 years of age who have amazed themselves. It is quite an experience and we can't wait to take you on an adventure of a lifetime.

MOUNTAIN CARIBOU

Mountain Caribou are located in our area and come in by the hundreds. On average we take 380 BC (Boone & Crockett) with a few even grossing over 400 BC. The Mackenzie Mountains have some of the biggest caribou populations in Canada. This hunt you are helicoptered out to a spike location and set up camp to hunt the caribou.

MOOSE

Mackenzie Mountain has some of the biggest moose taken in North America. Alaska/Yukon moose are the largest moose species. We have many successful hunters with our average moose well over 60" horn spread. Hunter & guide are flown to remote locations and will set up spike camps and hunt a remote area.

FISHING - WOLVES - WOLVERINES

2023 Mtn Lake Moose

Many of our clients will buy wolf and wolverine tags. There are rare opportunities to harvest these species so if the opportunity is available clients want to have a tag. We will typically take a few wolves a season. We have had hunters get wolverines but these are extremely fast and smart animals to hunt so it is not every season. There are many hunters who have in the past harvested wolverines. Before, during and after a hunt, clients can enjoy fishing from the many lakes and rivers. It is encouraged that hunters buy a fishing license so they can enjoy fishing from camp or even a day out for a lake shore lunch.
