DATES
Due to the shortness of the season and vast hunting area, the best results in almost inaccessible areas are best on foot. This allows our guides to take hunters into remote areas to harvest tremendous quality trophies.
Hunters need to be in fairly good shape to hunt, however we have had a number of hunters from 20 to 70 years of age who have amazed themselves. We feel that it depends more on the hunter's mental attitude as much as their physical ability. Hunters with the attitude of embracing the experience of this beautiful country usually have the best hunts. The few hunters will have the experience of learning how to judge rams, and a bonus opportunity of taking a ram in the 40" class. Most take on average an old 36" to 38" ram and hunters can embrace the beauty of these rams.

HOW TO GET HERE
We are proud Canada is still one of the safest and most accessible countries left to hunt. Direct flights are available from most cities to Edmonton, Calgary, Alberta or Yellowknife NWT. Canadian North Airlines fly to Norman Wells (population 882) or North Wright Airways fly from Yellowknife to Norman Wells. Hunters should arrive in Norman Wells the day prior to the hunt and book your departure the day after the hunt. Hunters are met at the airport by a North Wright representative and will be flown directly to camp (weather permitting). Excess gear and hard gun cases should be left at the float plane dock and collected upon return the night before leaving Norman Wells. Room and meals in Norman Wells are the responsibility of our clients.
Passports are now required to enter and return from Canada, even if driving. Mackenzie Mountain Outfitters will forward Hunting Licence and Gun Registration Application information and forms a few months prior the hunt.

TRAVEL TO NORMAN WELLS
Travel to Norman Wells mostly requires overnighting in Edmonton or Yellowknife both North and Southbound.
